An Eldoret-based lawyer has sued the East Africa Breweries (EABL) for negligence, after he allegedly found a used condom in a bottle of Tusker beer he had bought.

Richard Maina told the Eldoret court that he bought the beer in Eldoret in 2015, and stumbled on a ‘wrapped or used condom’ in the drink at his home in Eldoret town.

He has accused the company of negligence, and wants to be compensated for the same.

Maina further said he since lost interest in his favourite drink as a result, a statement that caused laughter in the entire courtroom.

East Africa Breweries was not represented in court during the mentioning.

The mention for the case was set on May 17, 2017.
