Police in Eldoret on Wednesday recovered goods valued at over one million shillings, which are believed to have been stolen from Uasin Gishu residents.
The goods, most of which are electronics, were netted following an operation by the Flying Squad soldiers in a shop within the Eldoret CBD.
One suspect was also arrested during the operation and is expected to be arraigned in court.
According to the Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga, the operation was conducted after they received a tip-off from the public.
"This is a major breakthrough considering that we've been giving many incidences of housebreaking and burglary around the county," Mutunga told the press at the Central Police station in Eldoret town.
He asked locals who may have lost their items during incidences of burglary or housebreaking to visit the police station and help identify the goods which include television sets, gas cylinders, mobile phones, woofers, refrigerators among others.
"The suspect is helping us with the investigations and anyone who has lost an item should come and see whether they can identify some as this will enable us to know how the goods found themselves at the suspects shop," added the OCPD.
