Road users in Eldoret town have been urged to observe traffic rules to avoid getting into road accidents.
Speaking in Eldoret on Friday, a day after the grisly Eldoret road accident, the Eldoret west police boss Smollets Munyianzi faulted members of the public for most of the road accidents happening in the town.
“The major problem is discipline. People just do what they do without considering other innocent road users. That is inconsiderate and it should not be condoned,” said the 0CPD.
He observes that since factors like congestion on the roads are being handled by the government, road users have the responsibility to look out for their safety and that of other road users in the town.
“Why would someone want to drink and just assume that their car would know the way home?” remarked the OCPD.
Munyianzi also mentioned that The Police department is set to start a crack down on all unroad worthy vehicles in the town.
The exercise set to commence in a week’s time is aimed at enhancing safety on Uasin Gishu county roads.
The police boss also called upon all motorists to maintain their cars citing that poor maintenance of the vehicles had a major impact on road safety.
