The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret town on Friday acquired two cancer treatment equipment valued at Sh700 million.According to the Hospital's head of the Oncology department Dr. Naftali Busakhala, the two chemotherapy equipment will help in fight against cancer in the region."We also have plans to liaise with Moi University to train specialists to take care of cancer patients," said Dr. Busakhala.He further said the hospital which is the second biggest in the country had initiated sensitization exercise to help educate members of the public on the need to go for regular screening."Members of the public are advised to visit health centers to be screed against cancer so that they can be on medication in case the disease will be detected in its early stages," he said.Already cancer screening machines have been set up in the North Rift region and nearby towns like Webuye, Busia and Chulaimbo in Kisumu.
