A section of Eldoret residents on Friday gunned down Nation Media Group's NTV after failing to air Friday World Cup clash between soccer powerhouses Spain and Portugal.
The locals were unhappy for NTV's failure to air the match they termed as the most crucial for the day.
Many of them had hoped that the match would be shown live, ignoring the fact that the local Television had only rights to air selected 32 matches for this year's World Cup.
"We are delighted to provide our viewers in Kenya with the opportunity to watch the greatest sports show on earth – the Fifa World Cup – in the comfort of our homes,” said Nation Media group acting Chief executive officer Stephen Gitonga when he announced the deal that NTV had reached.
Here are their reactions.
Kipchirchir Tanui - "EACC to begin with NTV and other TV's for such small pledges that they didn't meet."
Cynthia Tinice - "Hey guys! just download star times app subscription fee 150 and watch all matches on phone achana na hizi kwasa kwasa,.
Jonathan Kaitho - "They have disappointed us a lot the most important match, na hata hii kwese bure kabisa."
Kinoti Nabea - "They even highlighted the games they will be showing up to the final game but why leave real games now. Portugal vs Spain is just a final. Why not show it?"
Jeff Nyamai - "My friends invest and get a reliable pay channel for the games. Free stuff come at a cost."
Githenya Kimani - "They have just shown that they can't bring games that have high broadcasting rights lipieni games rights,"
Berry Driller - "Sa nyinyi mnaexpect watu Ka sisi tukulie Wapi wenye huonyesha game,"
Peter Elpho - "This is Kenya You cannot trust anyone or any organization. NTV is just being 'Kenyan' unless you expected it to be the first trustworthy company in this most corrupt country on the globe."
