Laurendi Sports tournament has officially launched volleyball tournament and indoor games to nurture talents in Eldoret.
In a two-day event slated for 13 and 14 April, the focus will be on other features including volleyball for both men and women, darts and table tennis for individuals and handball for both men and women.
According to the tournament director Lawrence Koech, they decided to venture into volleyball because it is one of the most loved sports in the region save from athletics.
“It is an opportunity for youths in the region to showcase their talents since our core mandate is to take raw talents in the region,” said Koech.
Koech continued to say that they wanted to add more indoor games to tap more talents because some of indoors games are recognized in international arena like Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
The winners will be awarded prize money of Sh100,000 and Sh20,000 for runners-up, while in handball top winners will get Sh15, 000 for both men and women.
However, the event organizers said that they will be awarding certificates to the top players and most disciplined players and coaches.
