Eldoret Polytechnic soccer women won the Kenya Technical Institutions Sports Association title for the sixth time, in Eldoret.
The three-day competition which brought together national polytechnics saw the hosts defeat the newcomers Sigalagala Polytechnic 1-0 in an entertaining match played o their grounds.
Topista Situma scored an all-important goal in the 63th minute to earn them victory for the sixth time in a row.
The two teams had hold on each other in the first half which ended in a goalless draw but Eldoret upped their game in the second half creating scoring opportunities.
Coach Odindo Agwaro praised the side saying retaining the trophy for a record six times was not a walk in the park.
“We won the title three consecutive years and retained it and we extended the win to another three wins and now we have also retained it. I am very proud of y team,” Odindo said.
Eldoret thrashed National Industrial Training Authority 7-0 in the semis while Sigalagala defeated NYS Engineering Institute 4-0.
