The county government of Uasin Gishu is planning to begin renovating the 64 Stadium in Eldoret town.Governor Jackson Mandago has promised to ensure the renovations of the stadium are complete before the end of his second term in office.

Speaking in Eldoret, Mandago reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting sports by ensuring existing facilities are in good conditions.

"We are going to renovate 64 Stadium and I'll ensure it's transformed into a modern sporting facility," Mandago said.

"Once complete, it will be the official football stadium in this county," he added.

Currently, 64 stadium that is always used to host political rallies and public ceremonies is in a sorry state with part of its walls already collapsed.

Kipchoge Keino, now under construction has been the only modern stadium in the county with the National Super League side FC 105 using it as its home stadium.
