Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno now says Eldoret town is clean after reaching an agreement with hawkers to relocate to market stalls that were built by the County Government.Chemno said the stalls are clean and secure for hawkers to carry out their businesses."We are now happy that there is order in town while businessmen are conducting their businesses in a conducive environment," he said in his office on Thursday after meeting a delegation from the World Bank and Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Programme(KISIP)."We will continue with the exercise of removing hawkers in Eldoret town until there is total sanity," he added. The delegation is in the County to inspect the progress of projects that are currently ongoing in Kimumu, Munyaka and Hill School.On his part, Roads, Transport and Public Works County Executive Eng. Gideon Birir said the county is working with the global lender to see to it that no estate is pronounced a slum in Eldoret."We are also keen on mapping our physical planning as this will lead us in future designs.
