Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas) acting Managing Director Jimmy Kemboi has put on notice individuals doing illegal water connections.
Kemboi said it is against the law and anyone who will be found will face the full force of the law.
"It is sad that there are some individuals getting our water illegally without our meters leading to the company losing 35 percent of its water translating to Sh15-20 million monthly," said Kemboi in his office, Saturday.
"We have partnered with the police, county government and the public health to ensure that illegal water connection is a thing of the past, " added the Eldowas boss.
He called upon residents to act as their watchdog by reporting any illegal water connections.
"I want to call upon wananchi out their to help us curb this mess by reporting anyone involved in this illegal business and I promise to take stern actions against them," Kemboi noted.
He reiterated that the company had put in place plans to ensure that the area is supplied with enough water.
“We will dig more boreholes and rehabilitate more dams to cater for water shortage,” he said.
