Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago says they have sealed loopholes that led the reduced performance by county-owned Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas).

He said, as a result, the parastatal has posted huge profits due to proper management.

He says regular supervision of service delivery and sealing of loopholes that led to dissipation in the past.

He was speaking during the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

“For the past three years, since the county government came into place, Eldowas has made big steps in terms of profit making, newest being Sh123 million profit,” said Mandago.

He added that his government will strive to ensure every resident receives reliable clean water at their convenience.

“We will partner with Eldowas, Lake Victoria North, and other partners to guarantee sustainable provision of clean water,” He said.

He added that his government has drilled over 80 boreholes under the community managed projects to serve the rural population.

“Plans are underway to sink more than 180 boreholes and rehabilitate more than 35 dams across the county as we actualize this dream,” He further states.

He added that The Elagarini Dam and Two River Water Projects among others are highly touted to catalyze the success of this vision to increase the water volume in Eldoret city and curb the current deficit that forces Eldowas to ration the available water.
