Machakos governor Alfred Mutua on Saturday took his campaign to Embu County in an effort to popularize his newly formed Maendeleo Chap Chap Party.
During the tour, Mutua urged Embu residents to vote development-minded leaders in the upcoming general elections scheduled for August 2017, saying Kenyans are fed up with 'empty rhetorics.'
"As a nation, we have lagged behind due to the perennial politics of poverty. The time for empty rhetoric is gone: it is time for politics of development. Development is the key and sure catalyst for national unity, peace and stability," he said.
"I am humbled and encouraged by the positive reception the movement is receiving from Kenyans across the political divide and regions," he added.
