Kiambu anti-drug crusader Gladys Chania has urged Kenyans to elect development conscious leaders in the forthcoming 2017 elections.
Chania notes that there will be social-economic change if voters elected development oriented leaders.
Speaking at Kiuu Ward in Ruiru on Monday, Chania said that 70 per cent of the current leaders and politicians are not development conscious.
She noted that current elected leaders have failed to deliver on the promises they made to the people in the run up to the 2013 elections.
“Kenyans must wake up and support leaders who are development conscious,” she said.
Chania who is eyeing the Kiambu women representative seat said that the country will continue to lag behind in development if Kenyans continue electing wrong leaders.
The Kiambu anti-drug crusader asked voters to vet the leaders who have declared interest in various seats before voting for them.
Chania vowed to push for laws and policies that will empower women and youths if elected in 2017.
She said that her agenda is to empower young people and women by fighting drug abuse and poverty.
Chania also vowed to push for employment creation which she said is still high among young people in Kiambu.
