Speaking on Friday evening at Kisii referral hospital while visiting a number of patients that were rescued from the house that collapsed on Thursday near Daraja Moja Obure said that such buildings collapse due to the failure of county government to implement key laws that will bring sanity in the construction industry.

The senator added that most of the county official mandated to carry out task has turned to be corrupt and they have caused lives of innocent residents and its high time they get retrenched by the county government.

"I want to assure the residents that I won't fail them once I am elected as my biggest role will be ensuring that safety is considered in any building project that is within the town," he added.

Obure called upon the  National Construction Authority to ensure that they take action to those who were involved in the construction of the collapsed building.
