Speaking at Risa primary on Tuesday, Mr Kevin Njeru Mwancha said the residents have been choosing elderly people who were not conversant with the ever dynamic technology.

He said young people were ready to take over from their old counterparts and make the region proceed economically besides also challenging youths to throw their hut into the ring for elective posts.

“Our county needs young visionary minds if at all we want to progress. I am not dismissing our elders but time has come for them to pass the mantle to young people because they are ready for the same. Technology is changing and we need people who are conversant with it,” he said.

Mwancha called upon young people to try their luck in the coming elections.

“I am sure you people will vote for young leaders.  If you elect us, we promise to bring meaningful politics of progress to our people,” he said.

The young aspirant who will be battling with Kitutu Masaba legislator Timothy Bosire in the 2017 polls urged locals to desist from embracing leaders who were out shun dreams of young people.

“With you, the young generation will thrive. We understand that some politicians are moving around dismissing our dreams. Please stand with us for the prosperity of this region,” he added.
