Photo/informationcradleThe current political stalemate has stalled many government projects, Bahati legislator Kimani Ngunjiri has said.He blamed lack of funding for various projects by the National Treasury on the forthcoming elections slated for October 26."Development in this country is threatened by increased political activity," the MP said.He said the Sh12 billion the government has channeled to the electoral commission for the fresh election would have been used to meet other needs."The Supreme Court decision to nullify August 8 election is very costly. The country has suffered huge loses due to the judgment. We could have used the Sh12 billion to pay the nurses who are still on strike," Ngunjri added.Kimani was speaking on Tuesday when he launched a project to rehabilitate roads destroyed by heavy rains in his constituency.
