The team was made up of Barbara Lidia Szlefarska, Bogdan Matasaru and Agnes Kiamba.

Through his Facebook page, Mutua said the observers who covered Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties indicated that the elections were free and fair and that the whole process from voting, tallying to the announcement was conducted above board.

They also indicated that they have studied all the relevant forms including 34A, 34B and 34C and have not found any anomalies.

"The observers who boast an extensive election observation experience ranging up to 20 years in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa said that it is important for those who felt aggrieved to follow the law. I agreed with them that Kenya has an efficient judicial system that is prepared to handle election petitions. Violence, demonstrations, and agitations have no place in society at this time. Kenyans want peace and order," he wrote.

He noted that the observers were pleased to see that workers had reported to work in Machakos County and life is back to normal.
