[Photo| the-star]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been dealt a blow with just few hours left remaining to the eve of October 26 fresh presidential election.The election preparation exercise in Siaya county has completely been paralysed. This is after the IEBC officials who include the Presiding Officers Deputy Presiding Officers and clerks failed to show up for the preparation exercise, Wednesday.Also service providers who were contracted to transport the election materials have gone underground.Reports indicate out out of the five constituencies in the county, it is only Alego Usonga constituency where some officials turned up.In Ugenya, the PO had to be whisked for safety by police officers while that of Bondo is reported to have been forced to call the RO and notify him he won't preside over the election due to his safety. He further said he was forced to kneel down and confess he will not preside over the election.The other affected sub counties are Gem, Rarieda and Ugunja.
