A senator allied to the Jubilee Party has dismissed claims that the country is in a political crisis that warrants a national dialogue.
In a thinly veiled attack on the National Super Alliance (Nasa), Nandi senator Samson Cherargei on Tuesday said that the so-called crisis was non-existent, adding that it was being precipitated by individuals keen on getting into the government through the back door.
The youthful senator further urged Nasa presidential contender Raila Odinga to participate in the October 26 repeat presidential elections saying that is probably the only dialogue that he needs to have with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We have no crisis in the country. We don't need any dialogue. Perhaps the only dialogue that we need to have is on the ballot on October 26 as directed by the Iebc.So Mr. Odinga should consider meeting us there," he said.
Odinga has, however, stood his ground that he will not participate in the said polls and called for peaceful demonstrations against the IEBC even as President Kenyatta's camp maintains that the polls will go on as planned.
