Deputy President William Ruto has assured Kenyans that the fresh presidential election will be conducted as scheduled.

"I want to state categorically that the presidential elections will be conducted as planned whether the opposition likes it or not. No one whatsoever has the power to halt the elections," he said in Kaptumo, Sunday.

"Elections should be done once and for all for us to continue delivering our promises to the electorates because we are confident we will get the victory," he added.

He, however, reiterated that they are ready to concede defeat if trounced by the opposition in the forthcoming elections.

"As Jubilee Party we will accept the verdict of the electorates. We urge our competitors to publically announce that they will accept defeat, "noted the deputy president.

He called upon Kenyans to maintain peace before, during and after election since we are all Kenyans regardless our political and tribal affiliations.
