[Photo/ nation.co.ke]Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has asked residents in the county to ignore NASA's calls to boycott the repeat presidential elections slated for October 26.Speaking during a rally at Chengoni and Mwangoloto, Mvurya said the Supreme Court ruling that directed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct elections within 60 days must be adhered to."There will be voting on October 26 because the Supreme Court ruled so. Ignore those claiming there will be no voting and come out in large numbers and vote for Uhuru Kenyatta," said Mvurya. The county boss asked residents to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid, arguing that the Jubilee administration had assisted in mitigating the effects of drought in the county. The soft-spoken governor also condemned NASA’s anti-IEBC demonstrations, and urged residents not to participate in the protests and instead maintain peace. He said the demonstrations were being used as avenues for theft and violence hence causing deaths and destruction of property."Do not allow to be used to cause violence by selfish leaders yet their families are at home and others abroad," he added. On her part, Kwale Deputy Governor Fatuma Achani lauded the Jubilee government for initiating various development projects in the county despite a majority of residents voting for the opposition.
