The two Daniel Mwangi and Eliud mbae were arrested during an operation led by the Kenya Power officials in Nakuru County in a bid to stop illegal electricity connections and vandalism of the equipment in the area.

The two suspects were accused of vandalizing transformers in Baringo County and Kiamunyu in Nakuru County.

Their arrest comes one week after four other vandals were arrested at Free Area Estate in Nakuru County while in the possession of copper windings, one jerrican of 20 litres of transformer oil and 22 earth rods.

The arrest of the suspects is a big boost to efforts by Kenya Power to curb theft of electricity and stem loss of revenue incurred through commercial losses originating from vandalism and illegal power connections.
