Kabogo said his leadership will not tolerate any vandalism of the electricity posts or floodlights within the town and the estates as this is a setback to development.

''The police are alert and will arrest anybody found destroying the high mast lighting establishments or the electricity posts,'' said Kabogo.

'We are planning to have security lights in the whole of Kiambu County come 2022 which I believe will deter many gangsters from engaging into this illicit acts,” added Kabogo.

Speaking in Thika town today where he awarded gifts to security officers for heightening security in the area, the governor said vandalism costs the county and national governments millions of shillings, which could be channelled to other development activities.

He urged the residents to protect the infrastructural developments aimed at improving security and promoting a 24-hour economy in the county.

“Residents also have a responsibility of ensuring their areas are secure by engaging in Nyumba Kumi Initiative and reporting any suspected matters to the relevant authority,” he concluded.
