Tolgos has since settled on 28-year old Wesley Rotich as his preferred running mate during the forthcoming general elections.

The governor cited public demands as reason as to why he dropped Lamaon.

But speaking on Sunday, Lamaon accused Tolgos of betrayal and hypocrisy, noting that he was unceremoniously dumped.

"People are asking me why I was dropped in such an unfair manner and I have to respond. This is a political betrayal of the highest order," he said.

"He could even have sent me a text message if he thought it was difficult to face me. Am also wondering where the public met to decide that I should be dropped." He added.

Lamaon's latest remarks comes just two days after he had admitted that he was not bitter after he was dropped, stating that the governor has every right to choose his preferred deputy.
