At least 51 doctors in Elgeyo Marakwet County who are on strike are facing possible dismissals if they do not return to work by Monday.
This is follows a statement issued by County Health Executive, Thomas Ruto, Friday.
He insisted that the medics would face punitive actions if they were unwilling to report back on duty.
“There is nothing we can do other than to subject them to disciplinary action which includes sacking. People must be ready to work,” he stated.
President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside Council of Governors chairman Peter Munya issued a directive, asking striking doctors across the country to resume duty immediately, failure to which they would be fired.
