Sarah Nyambori Onderi from Elsa Academy in Kisii county is the leading KCPE scorer in the released KCPE results.

Nyambori aged 13 scored 442 marks out of 500.

She told the press at the school compound on Tuesday that she fell sick during the examination something that saw her score less than she expected.

"I was sick during the examination period, I could have scored better than this though I am happy my dreams will come true. I scored this because of hard work and prayers", she said.

Nyambori said she wants to be a neurosurgeon professional.

The school deputy director Elizabeth Orenge said the results came due to hard work and determination.

She said pupils performed well in this year's KCPE exams.

"I am delighted with the 19 pupils who have scored 400 marks and above. Glory be to God", she said.
