Witeithie location assistant Chief James Nyoike has called on the area residents to maintain peace and embrace community policing as a way of taming crimes activities in the area.
Nyoike said that the area has been under the influence of some culprits who have taken over to cause discomfort and disturb the peace of the public yet they are known by the people as they live among them.
He said the only solution to the rapidly increasing crimes in the area is by embracing community policing which he says will ensure the police are notified by the public on the criminal dens and organised crimes as well.
On Thursday morning, the residents took to the streets what they termed as laxity among the security officers to secure the area after a quarry worker was butchered by unknown people on the eve of the day.
The residents caught the attention of the Kiambu county police commander James Mugera who has vowed to make an immediate reshuffle in the police force of the area as a way of enhancing the security considering that the county boss William Kabogo has been supporting them all through to secure his people.
The changes in the force will be announced on Friday in the Thika police station according to the commander.
