This is according to the County Executive in charge of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Samwel Yego.

While on an inspection tour to Chesunet and Chebaiywo dips over the weekend, Yego said the region is suitable for the cultivation of the said crops adding that its market is readily available.

"Taking horticulture for example, its maturity doesn't take much time when you compare with other crops and bearing in mind that peolple in Eldoret town like fruits,so ready market is in place," he said.

On the issues of cooperatives,Yego pointed out that there is need to relook on the sideshows that might be affecting them citing low uptake in the entire sub County compared to other sub counties especially to the youth.

He added that the County youths need to make use of the County's cooperatives and enterprise loans as an avenue of direct empowerment to them, which the county has been championing passionately.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has been urging the youth to engage themselves in activities that will see them grow economically.

The CEC further said nearly all dips across the county require enhancement to tame rampant tick associated diseases.
