Striking public university lecturers have been asked to maintain professionalism even as they advocate for their rights.University of Eldoret Chancellor Prof Judith Mbula Bahemuka has also asked University Academic Staff Union (UASU) officials to embrace dialogue in a bid to end the strike that has paralysed learning in public universities across the country.Speaking during the 5th University of Eldoret Graduation ceremony on Friday, Prof Bahemuka said negotiations are the best way out of any industrial actions."Even as you (lectures) seek redress through industrial action, I ask that you continue maintaining a high level of professionalism," said Prof Bahemuka."I also urge that you embrace dialogue and negotiations and never get tired of these noble acts," she added.Public university lecturers across the country have been on strike since November 1 in a move to force the government to honour a pay increase they were awarded this year.
