Kisii university vice chancellor Prof. John Akama has challenged youths to embrace education and put more effort in studies to become world viewers or international citizens in their future.
According to Akama, it is always easy for anybody with qualifications to be anywhere he/she wants to be.
Speaking during a press briefing on Monday , Prof. Akama urged students to distance from watching televisions and listening to radios before completing their studies but to put more effort in studies.
“Many have prospered through education let our youths put more effort in education to help our future kisii community,” he said.
He also challenged parents not to blame teachers when their children perform so poorly but to blame themselves for failing to join other education stakeholders in improving education standards.
“Education will end poverty in our societies let parents join other stakeholders to make this sector successful,”he added
Akama also challenged Kisii community to weigh who will be their leaders as august 8 polls beckons.
“As Kisii community, we need to be focused when it comes to politics, we should elect development and focused leaders to change the phase of the country by fighting for Kenyans to benefit,”Akama said.
“Leadership is actions not entertainment we should keep off from politicians who always entertains Kenyans because have no what will benefit Kenyans,”he insisted
Professor Akama called on Christians to pray for the country as general elections draws near .
