Youth in Vihiga county have been urged to embrace entrepreneurship as a way of tackling unemployment.
Addressing them at Hamisi sub county empowerment center, county youth coordinator, Vandin Nyaiywa called on the young people to take the small business approach instead of chasing for white collar jobs which have become scarce.
"People earn a good living through self employment. It begins in small scale and later grows," said Nyaiywa.
"We want you to become employers. If you believe you can then you can," she continued.
Nyaiywa noted that most youth had a negative mentality regarding agri-business and advised them not to be selective when opportunities arise.
She urged them to form groups and access loans from the Youth Trust Fund and other credit bodies.
