Small-scale farmers in Nyaura sub-location have been advised, to make use of the irrigation method for a good harvest especially now that the region is experiencing drought.
Speaking during a meeting with Maendeleo ya Wanawake, Nyaura sublocation Chair Lady Alice Mainya said that this is the right time to use the springs which provide water to make the small-scale crops prosper by watering them and mulching.
She said that the issue of going to the market to purchase vegetables is not a good idea since some crops such as sukumawiki can be maintained through irrigation method to save the situation since the same vegetables can be sold to the market and provide income.
Her advice was given a hand by the villagers, who said they are going to use the methods so as to get a good harvest though the region is dry.
