Njomo who lauded the community policing team for being vigilant and sensitising residents in various sub-counties in Kiambu said that the team officials from different sub-counties proved to be capable of taming insecurity in the area.

The chairman said that community policing and Nyumba Kumi initiative was able to identify different dens of illicit liquor and illegal drugs which was ruining youth’s lives in the county.

He hailed Kiganjo residents who mobilised and flashed out criminals in the region citing the previous incident where multi-million bhang was nabbed in the region and many perpetrators were apprehended and taken to court.

“I appreciate Kiganjo residents for working hard in exposing criminals from their community. It is an act of courage and love for our younger generation,” said Njomo.

He challenged Kiandutu slums residents to work hand in hand with the area chiefs and to also support Nyumba Kumi initiative which has somehow failed to work in their area.

Njomo who was speaking in Thika town on Wednesday expressed his concerns over children in Kiandutu who are not attending schools thus indulging in drugs and substance abuse.

“Kiandutu slums have proven hard to respond to the Nyumba Kumi initiative and one of our major resolution is to go to the slums to sensitise the public,” said Njomo.

He urged members of the community to report to the authority in case any child is not attending school so that their parents could be brought to books.

The chairman said that the resolution for the year 2015 is that all children should go to school adding that they will not relent to apprehend those absentee parents who neglect their children at home.
