Gesima Ward residents have been advised to embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative as one way helping the administration to curb crime.

According to clan elders from Kiamitengi village, they have said that the initiative has helped them curb crime in the area, but they want residents to be embrace it more.

Led by elder Nyakwana Orogo, they said that since the introduction of Nyumba Kumi initiative, they have been able to curb some of the crimes that were a common in the area. 

“Since the initiative was introduced, we have been able to curb some crimes and we encourage all residents to embrace it so that we can have zero rate crimes in our area,” said Nyakwana.

“Therefore we advise all residents to be vigilant and be able to identify visitors who are in our village so that we will continue embracing this initiative,” added Nyakwana.

In addition, he added that there are measures in place from the office of the area chief which will help the community to curb crime.
