Speaking in Molo town on Saturday, Mbugua said that locals have a responsibility to co-exist peacefully with each other.

He said that development in the area will not be realised if residents and leaders do not embrace unity.

“I want to ask Molo residents to embrace unity and work together towards fulfilling development,” he said.

The Governor said that the county government will initiate projects that will boost development in the sub county.

Mbugua said that his government has outlined various projects which when completed will curb poverty.

He said that poverty remains a big challenge to development adding that mitigation measures have been put in place.

“We have started programmes aimed at curbing poverty which includes empowering women and youths,” he said.

The former Administration Police Commandant asked leaders in the sub county to work with his government on development.

Mbugua said that he needs support of all leaders especially on matters touching on policy.

He said that the county will implement policies and legislations that will cater for the interests of all residents.
