Addressing locals on Wednesday, the MP said that some practices like cattle rustling, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and many more have been passed with time.

He said that such practices threaten peace, and residents should instead embrace other cultures that support development.

“I want to urge Rongai sub-county residents to completely shun activities that compromise peace,” he said.

The legislator noted that time has come for communities that practice such cultures to denounce and join other Kenyans who have embraced change.

Moi called on the county and the national government to conduct intensive awareness campaigns in a bid to end such practices, further urging the government to ensure the sub-county benefits from development.

He added that the county must develop all areas without discrimination, with emphasis on activities that will generate income for the people.

The legislator vowed to spearhead change in the county and urged professionals from all sectors to join him, adding that they have a big role to play towards improving the living standards of the people.
