Njoro residents have been told to embrace peace as they celebrate the Christmas and the New Year.

Speaking at Njoro town on Wednesday, area MP Joseph Kiuna said that residents have the responsibility of exercising peace.

He said that the government has assured him that security will be heightened across the sub county.

The MP said that security of residents should be the first priority and that the county and the national government must work on it.

“I want to ask Njoro residents to embrace each other even as they celebrate the festive season,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kiuna has urged youths in the county to form groups and apply for government funds.

He said that the sub county has received development funds meant for youths, women and persons with disability.

Kiuna said that young people must come out and apply for the money which he said are lying in banks.

“Our youths are not keen to apply for the development funds which is very saddening,” said the MP.

He asaid that the sub county will start forums to sensitize the youths on the importance of applyimg for State funds.

The MP also asked young people to be ambassadors of peace and help leaders as they seek to unite residents.
