In an interview, Pactrick Simbe who is in charge of dairy animals in the county expressed his concerns due to the lack of information to local farmers who have been struggling to feed their animals during dry seasons.

He says the farmers have been suffering instead of preserving the available grass in form of silage during this rain season and use it during dry spells.

Simbe challenged the dairy farmers to always be informed and attend seminars conducted by the livestock office in the county so they can get an opportunity of learning new ideas on how to prepare high quality animal feeds which are safe and recommended by the ministry of livestock.

“Keep the silage from water to avoid decomposition since it won’t be of good quality if it becomes wet,” Simbe added.

He moreover advised the farmers always to feel free and visit their offices in the county and forward their concerns to attain the necessary information in relation to their animals and the best ways possible to manage their livestock.
