Nyamira county residents have been urged to embrace tree planting to take care of environment across the county.
Speaking on Saturday in Nyamira north, Nyamira county commissioner Isaiah Nakoru said environment is the key major factor to human beings.
He also advised residents not to plant gum trees near rivers for their benefit of getting water.
"We want to make sure we have planted lots of tress in this county to take care of our environment ," said Nakoru
"We need to distance from planting trees near our rivers to have water throughout ,let us know how we can manage to take care of our environment in Nyamira county,"he added
County residents led by Nyakundi Mokong'u promised to plant lots of trees to provide help in future.
"A section of residents depend on trees in making money and we are going to plant tress as we have been advised by our county commissioner," said Mokong;u area resident in Nyamira north
