Kiambu County Commissioner Esther Maina has asked residents to embrace peace and unity as the county works to assure their safety.

Speaking to journalists at her office yesterday, the Commissioner said the public must embrace unity. She stated that the county and the national government are on alert and will not give room to criminals.

“Kiambu people should embrace unity and peace even as we on the modalities of ensuring their safety,” she said.

Maina said that police are vigilant and will intensify patrols across the county with the aim of dealing with criminals.

The commissioner further said that the police have been directed to deal firmly with criminals.

She asserted that crime and terror agents have no room in the society and that they will be fought by the full force of the law.

The Commissioner appealed to residents to work with the police in order to effectively deal with insecurity.

She observed that police alone will not be able to firmly deal with criminal gangs and terror agents. Maina noted that public support is necessary adding that there is need for the residents to embrace Nyumba Kumi.

She assured residents of their security this Easter season urging them to shun activities that will bring them trouble.

Elsewhere, Lari Police boss Alfred Makoma has vowed to deal with criminals allegedly causing havoc in the sub county.

Speaking to the press at Lari town yesterday, Makoma said that police will not tolerate criminals.

Makoma said that police have been deployed across the sub county to conduct security patrols. The police boss urged the public to provide information that will lead to the arrest of criminals.
