Addressing the press in his office on Monday, Mutoro said services like ambulances, fire brigade and police had no boundaries, hence calling for public cooperation.

According to Mutoro, residents on borders of counties should be tolerant and reasonable enough to allow officers offering emergency services do their jobs without interferences whenever there were emergencies.

He said a fire engine from Mavoko Sub County for instance, could not wait for an engine from Kajiado County that is not there to put off fire in Kitengela town few metres from Athi River town just because it does not belong to that county.

The police boss said all such services had constitutional rights and mandate to transverse counties without conditions or limitations.

He was reacting on the recent incident where a fire engine from Mavoko Sub County in Machakos County was attacked and beaten with stones in Kitengela town because it had responded to distress call by victims’ from neighbouring county whose house were on fire.
