Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohammed has blamed her defeat, on claims that Africa nations are divided into two.
She said she failed to clinch African Union Commission (AUC) chair position during Monday's election, because Africa nations are divided into two, Anglophones (English speaking) and Francophones (French speaking).
Amina expressed disappointment, saying African states are divided into language lines, a move that puts AU cohesion at risk.
Speaking in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where elections were held, she also faulted East Africa states for failing to support her.
It is believed Uganda, Burundi and Djibouti declined to support Kenya (Amina), and instead voted for the winner, Chad Foreign Affairs Minister, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
He took over from South Africa's Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who succeeded French-speaking, Jean Ping, in 2012.
