Former NTV Manager Linus Kaikai has nurtured many careers in the media industry if the moving tributes that have been sent to him over the past few days are anything to go.
The veteran journalist on Wednesday announced that he was leaving the Twin Towers, bringing to an end nine years of an illustrious career at the Aga Khan-owned Nation Media Group.
His former colleagues at NTV newsroom could not hide their disappointment following his departure even as they hailed him for the role he played in their lives.
"It has been the real boss. @LinusKaikai will miss your guidance and great attitude," said Anchor Ken Mijungu on his Twitter handle.
" NTV newsroom practically empty. Wallace Kantai out, Emmanuel Juma out, Linus Kaikai out. Yaani from a team to a skeleton newsroom. Please hsbd over the magic stick," added Mijungu.
"Thank youL@LinusKaikai for your leadership, guidance, and friendship. I owe my career to you and your belief in me. You saw my potential even before an inkling of what I was capable of. You helped me discover who can be...Thank you!! May God bless you, always," another Anchor, Jamila Mohamed said on her Twitter handle.
" I owe my all broadcast career to @LinusKaikai; the best boss a journalist can ever ask for. I'm gutted to see him leave @ntvtoday. It's the end of an era here. It will never be the same again. Goodbye and good luck," said Larry Madowo.
Another NTV reporter, Namukabo Werungah was not left behind as she took to her Facebook page to pay her tributes.
