Many broke down as they saw their relatives' bodies,  while others were silent and in tense mood as they waited to hear the names of those who lost their lives.

The Kenya Red Cross Society has also set up a tent to give physiological support to those affected by trauma.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery said that security agents are working hard to restore order in Mandera following the attack.

Nkaissery pointed out that they are collaborating with the Kenya Defence Forces to set up a border command unit to counter the entrance of Al Shabaab terrorists into Kenya.

Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe indicated that additional military personnel will be deployed in the area will specifically be dispatched along the Mandera-Lamu border to deal with attacks posed by Al shabaab.

Mwathethe said the newly proposed border command unit will play a major role in securing Kenya-Somalia border.

On October 5, six people were killed after Al Shabaab attack on a residential plot in Bulla, Mandera town.

The incident happened after tenants were asleep and police said the attackers shot the victims randomly after they had gained access into the plot.
