Speaking at Kenyerere health centre in Bobasi constituency on Tuesday, Member of county executive in charged of health Sarah Omache challenged the Boards in all health centers within the county to make sure that the drug smuggling is history.

“We are doing a lot in ensuring that there is enough drugs in our health institutions but we have been receiving complaints from the public about the shortage of drugs in some health facilities we want to know who are the culprits,” said Omache.

“We wish to ask the health board of managements to make sure that drugs are well managed and they should report whoever is smuggling the drugs from health centers,” Added Omache.

She added that there are measures to modernise the pharmaceutical department which will help curb theft of drugs in the public health facilities.

“As we are setting the measures of modern pharmaceutical we need each one to take responsibility of guarding the drugs as we will not hesitate to take stiff actions against those stealing drugs from our health centers,” added Omache.
