Billow Kerrow has finally quit the political scene, days after the general elections, where he never defended his seat.
The outgoing senator took to his social media account to announce this, saying he has had enough in the political arena.
“I did not vie for any elective post in the last general election and I do not intend to do so in future,” he said.
The veteran politician has been an active individual in the North Eastern political scene, since he was elected Mandera East MP in 2002.
He then vied for the county senatorial seat in 2013 general election, winning by a huge margin on a URP ticket.
“I have done my utmost to deliver on the trust and responsibility bestowed on me. Allah will judge me on it and I seek his mercy for my shortcomings,” he added.
“Leadership is a calling, not a job. It requires sacrifices and patience as one seeks to influence change in society,”
He thanked the Mandera people for trusting him by giving him the seat, saying he delivered to the best he could.
Kerrow however did not clarify on which interests he will take after his political career came to an end.
