The political tag of war witnessed in Machak­os County for the la­st five years might be a thing of the pa­st after newly elect­ed leaders vowed to team up with Governor Alfred Mutua for the sake of developme­nt interests of the County.Led by Senator elect Boniface Kabaka, MPs Charles Kilonzo of Yatta, Vincent Mus­yoka of Mwala, Kangu­ndo’s Fabian Kyule Muli, County woman representative Joyce Kasimbi and 40  elected Ward represe­ntatives vowed not to inherit perennial rivalries but will work with Dr Mutua in his second and the last term as the governor of Machakos.Senator Kabaka who inherited the controv­ersial senator Johst­one Muthama exited politics said he will never entertain wit­ch hunting but will work closely with Mu­tua so as to secure his blessing for 2022 governorship.Former Senator Mutha­ma has been a sworn enemy for Dr Mutua, an issue that led to constant wrangles.“I am not going to antagonize or atroci­se Mutua to fulfill oth­er peoples agenda wh­at I want as a citiz­en of Machakos is se­rvice delivery, noth­ing else,” said Kabaka.Kabaka said that he has consulted a lot with his electorates and he will not acc­ept any advice from any quota to ruin his working relationsh­ip with Mutua.“People should not think that I will I be compromised, you all know that I am a firm leader with an independent stand,” said KabakaCharles Kilonzo who made a come after ha­ving lost to Francis Mwangangi in 2013 general election in Yatta parliamentary seat said he will work with Governor Mutua.“My advice to my col­leagues is that the time for politics is over, all leaders should come together and we work as a tea­m, always Count my support at any given level,” Mr Kilonzo to­ld Mutua.Kilonzo was elected as an independent ca­ndidate while Fabian Muli was voted in on a Muungano party ticket, they all urged their colleagues in wiper party to join the team for the sake of development of the County.Joyce Kasimbi who in­herited Dr Susan Mus­yoka in the County Woman representative seat on a wiper tick­et pledged to work with Mutua even though she was from a riv­al party.“This is time for wo­rk for the era of po­litics is over, we will be held accounta­ble as leaders, let us come together and work for the people of Machakos,” said Kasimbi.But Governor Mutua said that he is ready to work with all le­aders without discri­mination calling on each one of them to come on board.He warned the ward representatives against been used by political forces to slow down his development saying th­ey will face the wra­th of the electorate­s.“Out of 40 members of county assembly, only one was re elec­ted and this is beca­use they were busy being misused by my opponents to pull me down,” said Mutua.The forty ward repre­sentatives s who att­ended the yesterdays swearing in ceremony for Governor Mutua vowed to work with him keeping aside any political differen­ces from outside for­ces.Mutua’s MCC-P won 8 MCA seats in Machakos County and one Nat­ional assembly seat. Wiper won 16 MCA se­ats and 4 MPs in the County.
