It was the end of the road on Saturday for three gangsters who are suspected to have killed police officers in Kayole. The two officers were gunned down at Matopeni area. The attackers whisked away their guns. The gunmen were however not lucky as crime busters cornered them in Maragua where they were killed in Rambo-style shoot out. Two guns were recovered, police said. Witnesses said a contigent of police officers, among them snipers, trailed the bad boys to their hiding hole - about 50 kilometers away where a gun battle lasted for hours.Businesses were closed as the gun fight escalated. Residents scampered for safety. Children bust into wailing.

For hours, the place was a no-go zone. When the gun battle ended, police officers were sweating, a resident said. 

Officers could have offloaded several magazines to the building before the three were overpowered, a witness said.
