Speaking at a public gathering in Karuri, Kiambu on Wednesday, Koinange noted that it is unfair that the private schools continue with their programs as usual while public school teachers and children keep off classes.

“I know the children who go to public schools and their parents are feeling a lot of pain for the time being lost. I am also not pleased by what is happening between the government and the Teachers' unions,” said Koinange.

He requested them to have the childrens’ interests at heart and agree to agree on the terms of service.

“Time is running out especially for the candidates who will be expected to sit the same exam with their private schools colleagues later in the year,” he said.

Koinange also asked the two sides to have conclusive talks that will see the striking frenzy in the teaching fraternity solved.
