Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) leader Wavinya Ndeti has asked Cord leader Raila Odinga to endorse Kalonzo Musyoka as presidential flag bearer if he wants the coalition to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year’s general elections.
Ndeti says that Kalonzo has a higher chance of unseating President Uhuru if supported by Raila.
Speaking at party offices in Machakos when she received Tala Ward MCA aspirant Lilian Mwanzia on Monday, Ndeti said that Kalonzo’s popularity has grown significantly.
“Cord should endorse Kalonzo as 2017 presidential flag bearer if it really wants to form government next year,” she said.
The CCU leader observed that Kenyans have trust in Kalonzo and would vote for in next year’s polls.
A section of Ukambani politicians have been lobbying Cord to endorse Kalonzo as its 2017 flag bearer ever since the Wiper party leader declared interest in the presidential seat.
Cord has been under pressure to name its 2017 flag bearer with barely a year left to the 2017 elections.
